What is Lurex Fabric? 

  • Lurex is made from metallic fibres which are used to give shine to the fabric.
  • It is netting with flexibility and elasticity. 
  • Lurex is made from thin metallic wires which are wrapped with other fibres like cotton, viscose, silk, polyester, etc. 
  • The fabric is lightweight and does not tarnish easily.
  • It can be used for all clothing purposes depending on the main fibre used.

  • The yarn is usually made from aluminium stripes which are sandwiched between plastic films.

Care Instructions 

  • Lurex fabric can be either washed in hot or cold water.
